Piaggio may launch the Vespa S (Vespa Sport) scooter in India. Folks at iamabiker have caught a glimpse of a banner that sports the Vespa Sport version. Unfortunately, we are not aware of the location.
The Vespa Sport is available in 50cc and 150cc in international markets but for Indian market, we need to wait and see if the company will give it a 150cc mill or will continue to extend its 125cc engine lineup. The company will also avoid giving features like front disc brake to keep costs in check.
Earlier this month, Piaggio has confirmed to launch more variants of the Vespa LX 125 in India in next few months. With introduction of new variants, the company hopes to sell more units by targeting wider range of customers. Piaggio hopes to sell 90,000 units by the end of this year.
