Piaggio may be launching a new variant of the Vespa LX 125 later this month. The new variant will be called Vespa VX and may feature additional equipment along with new bright colour options. The company is planning to position this scooter above the LX 125 and will demand premium.
There is a possibility of the Vespa VX will feature a front disc brake as a standard feature. The company is expected to sell LX 125 and the VX alongside each other, with the latter commanding a premium. By offering more variants, the company hopes to sell more units as it will target wide range of customers. Piaggio is aiming to sell at least 90,000 units by December.
We are expecting Piaggio will reduce the price of the LX 125 so that the new VX variant will fit in their price bracket. The company had to slash the price of the LX 125 to kick in more sales. The scooter is currently priced at Rs 59,996 (ex-showroom Delhi).
