Piaggio may launch a new variant of the Vespa, called the Vespa S in India in September this year. Once launched, this new scooter will be the third model to be sold in India under the Vespa brand. The company recently launched the Vespa VX which features front disc brake unit.
The Vespa S has mostly cosmetic upgrade as compared to its siblings- the LX 125 and the VX. It features a square headlight unit which gives it a ‘macho’ look and gets a retro looking black alloy wheels.
The Vespa S will continue to be powered by the same 125cc engine that powers the LX 125 and the VX variant. The engine produces 10.06bhp and 10.6Nm of torque and delivers it through a CVT automatic gearbox. We believe that Piaggio won’t price the Vespa S very high as compared to the other two variants but it will be the top of the line variant in the range.
