Piaggio is going aggressive with its India plans. The company is gearing up to double its dealership count in the next 18 months.
Currently, the Italian maker has around 150 showrooms across the country. It has two types of outlets, one where it sell their mass marker products like Vespa and Aprilia scooters, and the other, Motoplex, through which it sells its premium and expensive bikes.
While this aggression expansion is a result of growing demand for some of its products like the SR150, it still wants to maintain the unique experience its showrooms provide. The company launched the SR125 at the recently concluded Auto Expo. In fact, during the same motoring exhibition, the company unveiled some more variants of the SR that will be launched in the next few months. Piaggio also brought the RS150 and the Touno 150 to the expo to gauge everyone’s reaction to these entry-level performance products. There’s a high chance of these bikes making its way to the Indian market due to its design and brand value.
