Piaggio will be launching the new premium variant of the Vespa LX 125 scooter, the VX, by the end of this month. The new variant will be sold alongside the LX 125 version in India.
The Vespa VX scooter will get a 200mm front disc brake with two new colour options – pink and turquoise green. The scooter will feature MRF Zapper tyres and also gets a beige coloured seat option. The instrument cluster has been updated to give a fresh look and at the same time the grab rail for the pillion is longer as compared to the LX 125 variant.
The company will price the VX variant higher than the LX 125 because of the front disc brake setup and the additional features. Also there is a possibility that Piaggio may discontinue the LX 125 variant if the VX variant exceeds their sales expectations.
The LX 125 is already tagged as one of the most expensive scooters in India. What we need to see is how the Italian company will price the new VX variant. We believe the difference won’t be much; as the company is hoping to increase numbers with the new version.
