Piaggio has introduced a new mobile connectivity app. Available for Aprilia and Vespa scooter owners, this app integrates a number of convenience and safety features.
The connectivity app is available for Android and iOS users. Once it is paired with the scooter, the app allows the owner to ping the scooter and locate it in a parking lot. It also has a panic alert system, which connects you with the pre-designated contacts in case of an emergency. It gives out a reminder for a pending service, and helps owners locate the nearest service stations. Other services include assistance for locating fuel stations and a customer care service.
This system has been developed in conjunction with German component manufacturer, Hella. Piaggio will start introducing this system for its scooters from June. Existing Vespa and Aprilia scooters need not fret, as the system can be retrofitted through official service centres.
