Ever though riding a full blown electric Indian cruiser? Very unlikely, right, but not anymore. Polaris has confirmed that it is developing a new electric bike which will be ready in the next four-five years.
This upcoming electric bike will be sold under the legendary Indian brand. This means that the electric bike in question will be a cruiser. This bike could be ridden till up to 225km in one full charge, which is almost double of the Victory Empulse TT that has been discontinued along with other Victory bikes.
The American manufacturer will position this electric motorcycle as a fun bike that will be more focused towards pleasure riding, rather than doing long distance trips or commuting. The company didn’t talk about the expected pricing maybe because the official launch is five years away and by that time the battery technology would evolve considerably.
When launched, this Indian bike will compete with Harley’s Livewire motorcycle which is expected to hit the production line in the year or two. But the main question, will this Indian electric bike will ever come to India? The answer is a strict no as there’s no market for such bikes in the country as of now.
