Victory Motorcycles – an iconic cruiser maker is winding up its business. This news was released by Polaris who owns Victory Motorcycles.
As per the American automotive giant, Victory Motorcycles has struggled to establish the market share needed to succeed and be profitable. Polaris said that it will immediately shut down all Victory Motorcycles’ operations. However, the company will assist its dealers in liquidating existing inventories and the spare parts will continue to be supplied for 10 years. The servicing and the warranty coverage of the existing bikes will also continue.
With Victory Motorcycles out of the picture, Polaris can now focus more on the Indian Motorcycles which is doing well in the US as well as in the other markets. Along with Indian, Polaris’ fancy project – the Slingshot will also get more attention from its sales team.
It is sad to see after 18 years of operations, Victory had to cease its business. But having two different brands catering to the same set of buyers didn’t make sense and that is why Victory failed because the Indian had a stronger brand recall. Other than the customers, the Victory dealers will have to go through difficult times. But the American manufacturer confirmed that it will assess opportunity for certain Victory dealers to become Indian Motorcycles dealers.
