India Kawasaki Motors has registered close to 800 per cent increase in the Ninja 650 sales in August 2016. The company sold 54 motorcycles last month as compared to just six units in the corresponding month in 2015.
This impressive jump in sales is because of the price cut done by the Japanese manufacturer earlier last month. Kawasaki slashed the price by Rs 40,000, taking its price tag to Rs 4.97 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) from Rs 5.37 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). When the on road price is considered, the pricing looks more tempting due to reduction in registration charges and insurance. It’s quite interesting to see Kawasaki holding on to so much 2015 stocks. The 40,000 discount was applicable to 2015 manufactured models only.
Over the last couple of weeks, Kawasaki has been on the news due to its Palm Beach Road, Navi Mumbai dealer who took full money from the customers and failed to deliver the bikes. Kawasaki did cancelled the dealership eventually, however, no resolution have been provided to the buyers yet.
