The soon-to-be launched Dominar 400 has been spied for the first time in its production-ready avatar. The pictures of the bike were clicked at a dealer’s stockyard.
While the Dominar 400's looks aren't a secret, this is the first time we’re seeing a production version. The black/white paint scheme on the bike looks fantastic. There will be an all-black option too when Bajaj launches it on December 15 in New Delhi. The Dominar 400 has a 3D logo on the fuel tank and a sticker job on the tail section.
The best part of Dominar 400 is its full digital instrument cluster. The blue backlight looks good and the fonts are easy to read. There’s also a tank-mounted cluster which sports a side stand and ABS indicator.
The Dominar 400 is powered by a 373cc single-cylinder engine. The company hasn’t revealed power figures yet, but we’re expecting it to be close to 36bhp. This engine powers the KTM Duke 390 as well, but for the Dominar 400, Bajaj has detuned it to deliver more torque at the low-end. The gearbox is six-speed.
Just like most of their motorcycles, Bajaj will launch the Dominar 400 with an attractive price tag. We’re expecting a price tag between Rs 1.6 lakh and Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Once launched, it will compete with the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 and the Mahindra Mojo.
