QJMotor has unveiled the SRT 500 adventure tourer for the Chinese market. The motorcycle could be rebranded and sold as the Benelli TRK 502X in several markets, including India. Here we explain the middleweight adventure tourer in detail.
Styling
The latest iteration of the motorcycle carries forward the silhouette of its predecessor. Thus, styling cues include a semi-fairing design with a beak at the front, knuckle guards, windscreen, muscular fuel tank, split-style seats and a tall-mounted exhaust. There are, however, several new features on the latest model. The biggest upgrades on the 2021 model include an updated headlight setup and tubeless-tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels.
Features
The 2021 model gets an LED headlight along with an LED taillight and LED turn indicators. The motorcycle also gets a five-inch colour TFT screen, backlit switches, a USB charger, ABS and a quick shifter.
Hardware
The hardware on the 2021 model, similar to its predecessor, includes upside-down telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock to perform the shock absorption tasks. Anchoring setup includes petal-type 320mm twin discs at the front and a 260mm single petal-type rotor at the back. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels are shod with dual-purpose tyres.
Engine
The motorcycle continues to use a 500cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the engine makes 48.2bhp at 8,500rpm and 47Nm at 5,500rpm.
Expected Price
The BS4-compliant TRK 502X was available at Rs 5.50 lakh. Expect the updated model to carry a price premium of Rs 20,000-Rs 40,000 over its predecessor.
