- QJMotor SRT 500 images leaked online
- Likely to be launched in India as the 2021 Benelli TRK 502X
- Features a major design makeover
Images of the QJMotor SRT 500 adventure touring motorcycle have surfaced online. As we had told you before, QJMotor is a part of the Chinese group Qianjiang which also owns Benelli. Hence, the SRT 500 is likely to be launched in India as the 2021 model of the Benelli TRK 502X.
The leaked image of the bike reveals that it has received a major cosmetic update over the BS4 TRK 502X, which was discontinued in India some time back. The styling has evolved to look much more compact and sleeker with a radical-looking LED headlamp, a sharper front beak, new knuckle guards and more minimalistic side panels and fuel tank. On the contrary, the tail section, split seat design and the massive exhaust canister have largely remained unchanged. Notably, the ‘TRK’ badging on the knuckle guards could be a giveaway that this will come to India as a Benelli offering.
The adventure-oriented cycle parts have apparently been retained from the previous model of the TRK 502X. It gets a 19-17-inch spoke wheel combination which is shod with dual-purpose tyres. Suspension hardware comprises of inverted forks and a monoshock while braking setup includes dual disc up front and a single disc at the rear. As for the engine, the BS4 model runs a 500cc, parallel-twin motor which makes 46.8bhp and 46Nm. This unit will be tweaked for cleaner emissions which might result in different power figures.
The international and India launch of the 2021 Benelli TRK 502X and the road-biased TRK 502 is expected to take place before the end of 2020. Their prices are likely to be more than the BS4 versions which were pegged at Rs 5.10 lakh (for standard) and Rs 5.50 lakh (for X) (both prices are ex-showroom).
