- Aprilia RS660 Trofeo available in international markets
- Gets race fairing, ECU and different suspension setup
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Aprilia launched the RS 660 Trofeo in January to race in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup and the one-make Aprilia Racing RS 660 Trophy series. And now, the Italian manufacturer has put a price tag of USD 17,892 (approx Rs 13.08 lakh) on the RS660 Trofeo and made it available to non-racers as well.
However, with all the homologation parts removed and free of emission regulations, the motorcycle remains a track-only machine. Although, in the process, it has shelved some weight as compared to the stock RS 660 and weighs in at 153kg (dry). And while it continues to use the 660cc, parallel-twin engine, the power has increased from 100bhp to around 104bhp.
Speaking of which, Aprilia has used the ‘full-power' engine maps and made full use of the RS660 Trofeo’s SC Project race exhaust. It also gets a MotoGP-inspired switchgear as well a seat cowl and brake lever guard to complete the package. And since the stock RS660’s ergonomics aren’t fully sporty, Aprilia has equipped the Trofeo with a racing triple clamp, adjustable clip-ons and race footpegs as well. The suspension setup has also been revamped with a Misano by Adreani cartridge kit while the rear gets an Ohlins AP948 shock absorber.
While the Aprilia RS660 Trofeo is unlikely to be launched in India, we can expect the House of Noale to introduce the standard RS 660 along with the Tuono 6600 in India sometime this year.
