Rajini Krishnan is off to a good start in the 2018 Pirelli Malaysian Superbike Championship at the Sepang International Circuit. His fellow Team RACR riders, Vishwadev Muralidharan, Abhijith Prasad and Ritesh Sapre also put up a commendable show in the two races held over the last weekend.
Vishwadev Muralidharan scored 7th and 8th positions
Rajini is participating in the premier Superbike category in the Malaysian Superbike Championship. After racing on Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R for three seasons, Rajini has now moved to a Yamaha YZF-R1 for this season. Having qualified in the third place, Rajini put up a stellar performance to win the first race of the Round 1. However, disaster struck in the Race 2, as he high sided while he was running in the second position. He nevertheless rejoined the race in the 18th position, gradually catching up with the competition and ending the race in fifth place.
Abhijith Prasad finished 5th and 9th
Team RACR has also fielded two riders in Supersport class, Abhijith Prasad and Ritesh Sapre. While Abhijeet broke into the top ten in both the races, finishing 5th and 9th, Ritesh managed to score the 11th and 18th positions. Vishwadev Muralidharan, competing in the Super 250 category, scored 7th and 8th positions. The round 2 Malaysian Superbike Championship will be conducted at the Sepang International Circuit between 27 and 29 July.
