Rajini Krishnan has recorded his first victory in China by winning the Race 2 of the Super Stock (B) category at the 2016 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival. Competing on a 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R, Rajini raced for China Kawasaki Team at the Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) in the Guangdong Province.
Having set the third fastest time during qualifiers, Rajini had to return to the pits due to a malfunction in his 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R’s lean angle sensor. Despite failing to utilise the full potential of his motorcycle due to engine overheating problems in the first race, the 34-year old Chennaite finished fourth in his category. He made up for this disappointment by taking the top spot on the podium in the Race 2. The race saw a total of 34 riders from the 600cc and 1000cc superbike race against each other.
The Pan Delta Super Racing Festival was conducted on June 18 and June 19 at the ZIC, and hosted a round of the 2016 China Superbike Championship. The championship sees racers from China, Australia and Malaysia compete in a slew of 600cc and litre-class categories. While Rajini was also supposed to race in the next round, he will have to skip the race as the dates collide with the Round 2 of the Malaysia Superbike Championship, of which he is the defending champion. Rajini will be back in action in the China Superbike Championship in the round after next.
