- Rajini grabbed 2nd position in race 1
- Dropped to 4th position in race 2
- Vishwadev Muraleedharan and Abhijith Prasad finish among top 10 in both races
Rajini Krishnan scored another podium finish in the round 2 of the 2018 Malaysian Superbike Championship. He finished 2nd in race 1 and 4th in race 2 at the Sepang International Circuit, last weekend.
Racing for Team RACR, Rajini qualified 2nd. He finished the race 1 in 2nd position, recording his personal best lap time for the track during the race. Even in the race 2, he started off well and led the race for a few laps. However, the brake fade on the stock brake setup of his Yamaha YZF-R1 race bike started affecting his pace. He went off the track on two occasions, and ended up finishing the race in 4th position.
Rajini’s team mates, Vishwadev Muralidharan, Abhijith Prasad, Ritesh Sapre and Yokeshwaran Krishnavelu also put up a commendable show in the two races. Abhijith and Ritesh, who compete in the Supersport 600 category, finished race 1 in 9th and 17th position, and race 2 in 7th and 20th position respectively. Vishwadev and Yokeshwaran meanwhile, finished 8th and 19th in race 1 and 7th and 20th in race 2 respectively. The third round of the MSBK will be conducted at the same race track between 14 and 16 September.
