- Rajini Krishnan finished second in race 1 of round 4 of the MSBK
- He emerged victorious in race 2 of round 4
- However, he couldn’t compete in round 5 due to rain and lack of a spare tyre
Rajini Krishnan showcased a commendable performance in round 4 of the 2018 Malaysian Superbike Championship. The racer finished second in race 1 while he grabbed the leading position in race 2 of the competition.
Riding at the Sepang International Circuit, Rajini finished the qualifying round in second position astride the Yamaha YZF R1. He secured the same position in race 1 and the round was won by Kawasaki rider Azlan Shah.
Things went in Rajini’s favour in race 2 of the round 4 of MSBK when he secured the first position, defeating former Moto 2 rider Azlan Shah (third) and Jonathan Serrapica (second). The Indian rider completed his fastest lap in 2:09.632. However, Azlan’s quickest lap time in the same race was better at 2:08.422.
Unfortunately, Rajini had to withdraw from race 2 of round 5 owing to the rain which made it difficult for the rider to compete with his slick tyres. The absence of a spare tyre resulted in Rajini losing the second position in the championship by just one point.
