Earlier this month, Rajini Krishnan was contracted by the China Kawasaki racing team to race in the Superbike Championship. The Indian national will ride as a wild card entry for two rounds of the championship.
The 34-year old Chennai-based rider headed to China couple of days ago and is currently prepping for the next round. Rajini is riding in the Ninja ZX-10R stock category at the Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC). The race will be held on the 18th and 19th of June. The racer was also seen testing the motorcycle at the circuit earlier this month.
The motorcyclist has got a number of wins under his belt such as being a nine-time consecutive national road racing champion in multiple categories from 2003 to 2012. Furthermore, he is the only Indian to have won three international motorcycle championships – 2008 Malaysian Super Series (150cc category), 2012-13 Losail Asian Championship in Qatar (600cc category) and the 2015 Malaysian Superbike Championship (1000cc category).
Before heading off to China, Rajini was helping operate his academy, R.A.C.R. (Rajini Academy of Competitive Racing), which helps young riders train to become competitive riders.
