- 2022 Yamaha XSR700 revealed
- Gets new features
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Yamaha has taken the wraps off the updated 2022 XSR700 for Japan. The retro-styled motorcycle that is based on the MT-07 gets a few changes that are similar to what the 2022 XSR900 received late last year.
To begin with, it receives two new dual-tone colours. There is black with gold graphics and golden wheels and a white paint scheme that comes with subtle blue highlights on the tank. Nonetheless, the both options have a majorly blacked-out look. But these are not the only changes. The 2022 Yamaha XSR700 also gets a new full-LED headlamp that is smaller in size compared to the previous one. It also gets LED indicators and tail lamp to complete the package. That said, it also borrows the 3.5-inch TFT screen from its bigger sibling that replaces the round LCD unit from the previous model.
Additionally, Yamaha has also tweaked the 688cc, parallel-twin engine a bit. It delivers 73.4bhp which is 1.4bhp lesser than before. However, the 67Nm of torque remains the same. But with a kerb weight of 188kg, the 2022 XSR700 is also heavier by 2kg now.
While the updated XSR700 will make its debut in international markets soon, it is unlikely to make its way to India. At present, Yamaha seems to be focusing on its 150-300cc market in the country and recently even showcased its electric offerings that are expected to debut soon.
