- Revolt electric bikes in Maharashtra now significantly cheaper
- Incentives of at least Rs 64,000 in the state
- Bookings to re-open tomorrow, 15 July, 2021
After the central government increased the amount of FAME II subsidy on electric vehicles, the Maharashtra state government has announced its own incentives on EVs. These are applicable over and above the subsidy granted by the central government. Revolt Motors is one of the electric two-wheeler brands benefitting hugely from these schemes as its new buyers can save up to Rs 64,000 in Maharashtra.
Under the new Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy 2021, the state government will be paying Rs 10,000 per electric two-wheeler. An additional Rs 15,000 incentive is also available for those buying an EV before 31 December 2021 as an early bird concession. At the same time, every Revolt electric bike is entitled to an incentive of Rs 48,000 granted by the central government. Combining all these benefits, Revolt bikes are eligible for a total incentive of at least Rs 64,000 in Maharashtra.
Besides these schemes, the government has also exempted electric two-wheelers from road tax and registration charges which has reduced their prices further. And if a person plans to move from a petrol-powered two-wheeler to an electric vehicle, they are entitled to an added scrappage incentive of Rs 7,000. Bookings for the Revolt RV 400 and RV 300 are currently on hold but they are set to re-open tomorrow, 15 July, 2021.
Similar benefits for EV buyers have been announced by several other state governments including Gujarat, Meghalaya, Bihar, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi.
