Revolt RV 400 App released on Google Play Store; here’s what you get

- Revolt RV 400 App now available on Google Play Store

- Showcases the features and services available to the buyer

- iOS-applicable version likely to be introduced shortly

The Revolt RV 400 is an interesting electric motorcycle that is due to make its official launch in the market on 7 August. The RV 400 is claimed by the manufacturer, Revolt Intelicorp, to be the first AI-enabled electric motorcycle in the country. Which means one can control several features and settings of the bike from anywhere through a smartphone. While the launch date is coming closer, the Gurgaon-based start-up has released the app which is accessible through Demo mode and provides a heads-up of the several features that will be available with the RV 400. In case you are planning to consider buying an RV 400, we tell you the unique smart features that will be available that are designed to make your ownership experience worthwhile.

First up, the app has a clean and fuss-free interface that is simple and easy to operate. The top centre bar let’s one view the current location of the motorcycle which can also be shared with someone. Next is the estimated range available depending on the riding mode (Eco, City and Spot). The bar underneath also provides a visual reference of the charge left in the battery besides the percentage value. On a full battery charge, the app mentions that the motorcycle will be able to cover a distance of 140km in Eco, 110km in City and 80km in Sport modes.

What's more, during the time of unveiling, it was announced that the RV 400 will come with artificial exhaust tones that can be selected by the user. Through the demo mode, one can playback the four pre-installed exhaust notes. The unique feature also comes with a slider bar at the bottom to control the volume of the speaker emitting the exhaust note. Notably, by sliding the bar to the extreme left one might just be able to ride the RV 400 without emitting any kind of noise. However, we’ll be able to confirm this once we have ridden the bike.

Next feature on the list is the Geo-fencing function which allows the user of the RV 400 to set a perimeter boundary for the motorcycle. If the bike happens to cross the pre-determined boundary, the user will receive an alert regarding the same through the app. While the maximum radius of the perimeter can be set to 50kms, the minimum perimeter stands at zero, which means, one may use this as an alarm system in case the vehicle is moved from its location.

The next feature is the battery swap function which provides the user with a map showing the closest battery swapping station. The feature will provide the user with the distance to the station along with the estimated time of arrival for the same. The feature is linked to Google Maps which, upon selecting, provides the user with turn-by-turn updates to the swapping station. Now, in case a battery-swapping station is not available nearby or the charge in the battery is completely depleted, the user can place an order for a charged battery to be delivered with the additional option of choosing a desired time of delivery. Besides the battery swapping options, Revolt will be offering the RV 400 with a portable and an on-board charger. With these arrangements, we strongly believe the company has thought it well to overcome the shortcomings of the charging infrastructure available.

Besides the above features, the app also comes with options like ‘My Trips’ which provides a log of the journeys, ‘My Swaps’ for the occasions when a battery has been swapped and also a ‘My Bike’ option, besides other features. Currently, that option is locked for Demo mode and should be accessible post the launch.

Lastly, unlike conventional motorcycles where one needs to physically insert a key into the key fob or have a smart key in close vicinity of the motorcycle to switch the ignition on, the RV 400 can be remotely turned on or off through the app.

Revolt has already started accepting pre-bookings for the RV 400 through the company’s official website or via Amazon for a minimum payment of Rs 1000. Notably, the brand has already received over 2500 booking in just one month which is quite impressive. Pre-bookings for the RV 400 are currently limited to Delhi and Pune and will be later introduced in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Chennai over the next three months.
