- Gujarat government offers Rs 10,000 per kWh of benefits
- Benefits over and above the FAME-II subsidy
- Policy effective from 1 July, 2021
Gujarat government has announced that it will pay Rs 10,000 per kWh as a Direct Benefit Transfer initiative to electric two-wheeler buyers in the state. The benefits, which are effective from 1 July, 2021, are over and above the FAME-II subsidy of Rs 15,000 per kWh announced by the central government.
With this new policy in effect, Revolt Motors has announced that its customers can save at least Rs 20,000 on the RV400 electric motorcycle under the Gujarat Electric Vehicle Policy 2021. Revolt Motors claims that combining the state-level incentive with the FAME-II subsidy would allow buyers to save at least Rs 68,000 per motorcycle in Gujarat. The company added that the Gujarat Electric Vehicle Policy 2021, in addition to the FAME II incentive, will accelerate the process of EV adoption in the state.
Similarly, Delhi and Meghalaya Governments offer a direct incentive of Rs 5,000 per kWh and Rs 10,000 per KWh, respectively. Additionally, states like Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi have also waived off the road tax for electric two-wheelers.
