- The belt drive has been replaced with a chain drive
Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler maker, River has launched its Indie electric with new updates and a price hike. The scooter originally debuted last year but now is offered with small but significant changes, and here is what it has to offer.
While the River Indie’s design has been the same, it now gets two new colours - grey and white. Apart from that, River has also updated the Indie with a new chain drive system and a single-speed gearbox. It now gets a dedicated reverse switch as well.
All these changes have also welcomed a price hike of Rs. 18,000 and now the Indie’s asking price is set at Rs. 1.43 lakh compared to the previous Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Apart from the aforementioned tweaks, the River Indie retains all its mechanicals, features, and aesthetics from before. So, it sports the same split LED headlight with large boxy body panels and a utilitarian but swanky build. The 43-litre underseat and 12-litre glove box storage are also carried over.
It gets a 4kWh battery pack that powers a 6.7kW motor. The setup is said to offer a 120km range and a 90kmph top speed.
