With the launch of the Himalayan, Royal Enfield has proved that it’s ready to go out of the box and build good niche motorcycles. And we believe, the company might do the same thing with its next motorcycle.
During BikeWale’s recent interaction with Siddhartha Lal, CEO, Royal Enfield, he talked about the company’s focus on becoming a global middle-weight motorcycle maker. The Chennai-based manufacturer will focus only on developing motorcycles with displacement between 250cc and 750cc. And the top honcho slightly hinted about a product that would be completely different and something they’ve not done before. We believe this product could be a motorcycle that’ll be powered by a new parallel twin 750cc engine.
In fact, a couple of months ago, some pictures of a parallel twin motor that was being tested on the Continental GT were leaked. While it’s too early to comment on the development phase of this new motorcycle, we believe this new engine would power an adventure bike as well as a tourer, like the Thunderbird.
Stay tuned as we get you more details on Royal Enfield’s new 750cc engine.
