Royal Enfield continues into 2016 with a strong sales performance and posted sales of 50,682 motorcycles in combined domestic wholesale and exports. In June 2016, it recorded a growth of 36 per cent over the same period last year.
The domestic sales saw an increase from 36,597 to 49,060 units in June 2016 which is a respectable increase of 34 per cent. A major factor to this growth is the increase in number of showrooms around India. Export numbers saw a significant rise of 118 per cent with an increase to 1,622 from 744 units. The key to this success was their increased reach in major motorcycle markets in South-East Asian countries.
Increased production numbers and reach has proven to be a successful approach for the Indian manufacturer. Royal Enfield’s most recently launched store is in the city of Manila, Philippines, an important emerging two-wheeler market.
