Royal Enfield is on a roll. After updating their brand logo, which didn’t go down well with the brand loyalists, the company has added new colours to two of their highest selling motorcycles, the Classic and the Thunderbird series.
The Classic 350 gets two new colours – lagoon (dark blue) and ash (off-white). These new colours will join the classic black and silver scheme. On the other hand, its elder sibling, the Classic 500 gets only one new colour – classic tan which looks like a faded version of the Desert Storm. The Thunderbird series which includes the 350 and the 500, both, get two new colours – lightning (grey) and marine (blue). These new paint schemes will join the stone (black) colour option which was the only choice available till now.
Updating its logo and addition of new colours to some of its largest selling bikes clearly shows the aggressive brand building exercise the company is performing. Royal Enfield brand is very strong in India as well as in few other markets, but there is always the need of constant innovation that will help a company keep its brand equity strong and that is what exactly Royal Enfield is doing here. This change, albeit, might affect the consumers directly as the waiting period may go up due to availability of more colour options.
