Royal Enfield has registered a 31 per cent jump in sales in January 2018 as compared to the corresponding period in 2016.
Royal Enfield sold 76,205 motorcycles in the domestic market in the last month, cementing its position as the country’s fifth largest two-wheeler manufacturer. In comparison, the company had managed to sell 58,113 motorcycles in the domestic market in January 2017. It is not just the domestic market that has been kind to Royal Enfield, as the export numbers also grew by eight per cent. Overall, Royal Enfield sales grew by 31 per cent.
The Classic 350 continues to be the best seller in the Royal Enfield range, accounting for more than half of the sales. It is followed by Bullet 350 and the Thunderbird 350. Last month, the company also introduced a limited edition version of its adventure touring motorcycle, called the Himalayan Sleet. All 500 units of the motorcycle have been sold out. The company has now made rear disc brake standard for the Classic 500.
