- Announces Continental GT cup
- 18 riders will be selected to race
Royal Enfield has entered the world of track racing with the Continental GT Cup. This cup will have four rounds that will start in October 2021 and go on till January 2022.
The registrations for this have already opened on the company’s official website. There’s a set of criteria that every participant must fulfill, post which the application can be filled. The Continental GT Cup will debut at the 2021 JK National Racing Championship as a one-make series. The Continental GT bikes have been fully modified to go racing.
The biggest change seen on the bike is a new stainless steel exhaust system that churns out 12 per cent more power. There are also race clip-up handlebars, rear-set footpegs, stiffer suspension and also a race fairing. Further, there’s a neatly designed belly pan and the tyres are from JK. These modifications have dropped the overall weight of the bike by 24kgs.
For now, 100 riders will be selected to participate in the rider selection programme that will be held in Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore. Out of this, 18 riders will be selected who will compete with each other across four racing rounds.
