Royal Enfield is conducting the 2017 Himalayan Odyssey from 6 July to 23 July, 2017. This event is a riding excursion from Delhi to Khardung-La, the highest motorable road in the world.
This year, the excursion has been classified into two contingents - Himalayan Odyssey (HO) and Himalayan Odyssey-Women (HO-W). RE will flag off both these contingents together on July 8 from India Gate, New Delhi. HO and HO-W will take different routes, but re-join at Leh City in Ladakh. This will be the 14th edition of the ride, which sees participation of 50 riders on the HO contingent and 20 women participants on HO-W.
The Himalayan Odyssey is an 18-day ride, which will require the participants to cover around 2,200km on their Royal Enfield motorcycles. Apart from Khardung-La, which is located at 18,300 feet above sea level, riders will travel through beautiful places like Narkanda, Sarchu, Jispa and Leh. Each contingent will be accompanied by service staff, technicians and doctors provided by Royal Enfield.
The company has begun registrations for the 2017 Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey through their official website. The registration fee is Rs 48,000 for an individual and Rs 96,000 for a couple.
