- India launch took place on 5 November
- Prices start from Rs. 3.39 lakh, ex-showroom
Royal Enfield has commenced the deliveries of one of its newest offerings, the Bear 650 across India. The scrambler version of the Interceptor 650 was launched on 5 November. The prices of the bike start from Rs. 3.39 lakh and go up to Rs. 3.59 lakh, ex-showroom, depending on the colour variant you choose. It is available in five colour options.
The Bear 650 is powered by a 648cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine. While this is the same unit that does duty on the Interceptor 650, Royal Enfield has bumped up its torque output to 56.4Nm for the Bear. The power output, meanwhile, remains the same at 46.8bhp. This unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox along with a slipper clutch.
While the chassis is the same as the INT, it has been strengthened around the neck and the sub-frame has been tweaked to make it more suitable for some off-roading. It also gets new master cylinders for the brakes and a fixed-style front disc. The most significant change comes in the form of a 19-17-inch spoke wheel combination that is suspended by USDs and dual springs sourced from Showa. The list of features includes a round TFT screen, dual-channel ABS, full-LED lighting, and a USB-C charging port. The seating ergonomics and aesthetics of the bike are also different and more in line with its scrambler persona.
