We came across the Royal Enfield Bear 650’s production model images recently. It revealed a majority of details of the bike in terms of the design, hardware, features, and other mechanicals. So, here is what we know about it now.
Funkier Colours
Royal Enfield’s experiment with new and youthful colours was first showcased with the Guerrilla 450. And it now seems that the Bear 650 will follow suit. The leaked image shows the bike draped in a three-colour combination - white, yellow, and blue. Apart from that, its bodywork appears largely similar to the existing 650s. The Bear gets a round LED headlight, peanut-shaped fuel tank, tubular handlebar, and a single-piece seat.
Swanky Hardware
Unlike the bike it’s based on, the Bear 650 uses USD front forks instead of conventional ones along with a monoshock. The braking hardware comprises a single front and rear disc with dual-channel ABS and these are mounted on spoke wheels with tubed tyres. Royal Enfield has also tweaked the exhaust setup and the Bear 650 now gets a two-in-one setup for its scrambler purpose. This also means a slightly different exhaust note and state of tune.
Same Engine
Powering the Bear 650 will be the same engine that is employed in the current Royal Enfield 650 stable - a 648cc, parallel-twin that makes 47bhp and 52Nm. It will be linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Features
The Bear 650 will also get a fully digital screen along with LED illumination. It could be similar to the TFT that the current Himalayan 450 gets. However, if the Bear 650 has variants, the most affordable one could get an LCD unit.
Price
The asking price for the Royal Enfield Bear 650 could be around Rs. 3.15 lakh to Rs. 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
