- Will be powered by a 648cc parallel-twin motor
- Likely to be launched in early 2025
Similar to its 350cc range, Royal Enfield plans to offer multiple models in the 650cc range as well. One such model is the upcoming Royal Enfield Bullet 650, which was spied testing recently in Europe.
Yes, it is the Bullet 650 and not the Classic 650 Twin, unlike what most publications are claiming. Why do we say that? One, our source has confirmed this to be the Bullet 650. And two, if you look closely, the motorcycle features a single-piece seat similar to the Bullet 350, and the rear fender is different as well.
It is quite common to misinterpret the Bullet 650 for a Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin as both motorcycles will share similar underpinnings and styling. In fact, most of the cycle parts will be similar as well, save for the wheel sizes and some features.
Now, why would Royal Enfield want to introduce the Bullet 650 in India when they are already working on the Classic 650 Twin? Well, the Bullet nameplate has a strong brand recall in India. It has immense popularity in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, and buyers strongly associate with its brand heritage. So, the Bullet 650 will serve as a perfect upgrade for these customers, who want a more powerful motorcycle, but don’t wish to stray away from the Bullet nameplate.
The Bullet 650 will use the tried and tested 648cc, parallel-twin motor from the Interceptor 650. The air/oil-cooled motor makes 46.4bhp and 52.3Nm and comes paired with a six-speed gearbox. As for its launch timeline, we expect it to be launched in India sometime in early 2025, as Royal Enfield will first launch the Classic 650 Twin and the Scrambler 650 in India and international markets.
