A prototype of the Royal Enfield Café Racer aka Continental GT has been spotted testing in Karnataka. The images have been tweeted by company official who is riding the bike in southern state; these pictures are from Om beach in Gokarna, Goa-Karnataka Border and Trasi beach in Udupi.
The company had first unveiled this motorcycle in 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and since then a lot of motorcycle enthusiasts have been waiting for this machine to be launched.
The Café Racer is powered by the same 499cc air-cooled engine that powers the Classic 500. But for the Café Racer, the engine has been bored out to displace 535cc. The bored out engine now produces 36bhp of power and torque is also expected to be higher than the Classic 500.
We are expecting the Café Racer to be launched this year end with a price tag ranging between Rs 2.25 lakh and Rs 2.75 lakh.
