Royal Enfield has announced the launch of the BS6-compliant Classic 350 single-channel ABS at Rs 1.57 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). What else can you purchase in the same price range? Here we list the alternatives that you can consider.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 dual-channel ABS
For about Rs 8,000 more than the Classic 350 single-channel ABS, buyers can opt for the dual-channel variant of the motorcycle. The Classic 350 dual-channel ABS, which is available from Rs 1,65,025 onwards, comes in more colour options than the single-channel ABS version. Apart from the ABS setup (single-channel vs. dual-channel) and different colours, both variants of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 are identical to each other. Mechanical specifications on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 BS6 include a BS6 compliant 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 19.1bhp and 28Nm.
The BS6 iteration of the Jawa 42 single-channel ABS is available at Rs 1,60,300. The four-valve, liquid-cooled setup helps Jawa deliver healthier power figures than its rivals. Classic Legends has not revealed the power figures for the BS6 Jawa bikes, although they stated in the press announcement that the numbers are similar to the BS4 models. For reference, the BS4 Jawa bikes produced 27bhp and 28Nm with their 293cc engine.
Jawa Standard single-channel ABS
For a relatively higher price tag, buyers can also consider the Jawa Standard that, in the single-channel ABS avatar, is available at Rs 1,73,164. The Jawa Standard features the same 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that also powers the Jawa 42. The Standard model, however, packs more chrome highlights than the Jawa 42, which further enhances its retro looks.
People looking for a modern motorcycle with premium hardware must check out the KTM’s entry-level RC model, the RC 125. Engine specifications include a 124.7 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces 14.3bhp at 9,250rpm and 12Nm at 8,000rpm.
At an even affordable price tag than the KTM RC 125 is Yamaha’s 155cc fully-faired motorcycle, the YZF-R15 V3.0. Available at Rs 1,45,900, the motorcycle features a Deltabox frame along with features such as full-digital instrument cluster, LED headlight and taillight and a first-in-segment Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. The sporty styling of the engine is complemented by the 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 18.3bhp and 14.1Nm.
