- The company will soon bring ABS in the standard Classic 350 models as well
Royal Enfield has launched the ABS version of the Classic 350 Gunmetal Grey edition. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs. 1.54 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and it has become around Rs 10,000 more expensive than the previous non-ABS version.
The company has recently introduced ABS in the Classic 350 Signals version as well and it will be shortly equipping even the standard Classic 350 models with this safety feature. This is due to the government’s upcoming mandate to incorporate ABS in all motorcycles above-125cc, starting from 1 April 2019.
The newly introduced ABS is a dual-channel type working with a 280mm disc on the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and twin gas charged rear shock absorbers. Powering the bike is a 346cc, air-cooled, carburetor motor that produces 19.8bhp at 5250rpm and 28Nm at 4000rpm. The unit comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 competes against the Bajaj Dominar 400, Honda CBR 250R, Mahindra Mojo UT300 and the KTM 200 Duke.
