Royal Enfield has launched the Classic 350 Redditch edition ABS version at a price of Rs 1.51 lakhs (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is now dearer by Rs 4,000 over the non-ABS trim which comes for Rs 1.47 lakhs (ex-showroom). The dealerships are accepting bookings for Rs 5,000 and deliveries are set to commence in January 2019. Now, in the Classic 350 family, the Gunmetal Grey, Signals and Redditch edition are available with ABS while the standard version is yet to receive the safety net update.
The Classic 350 is Royal Enfield’s highest selling model in India. It gets the quintessential modern-classic styling with round headlamp, tear-drop shaped fuel tank, spoke wheels, single unit handle bar along with analogue instrumentation. The bike is powered by a 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carburetor motor that produces 19.8bhp of power at 5,250rpm and 28Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The unit is mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Suspension duties on the Classic 350 are handled by telescopic forks on the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is taken care of by disc brakes on both the ends along with dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle gets a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres and has a kerb weight of 192 kg.
In terms of pricing, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Redditch edition competes against the Mahindra Mojo UT300, Jawa Forty Two and the KTM 200 Duke.
