- Spotted testing in Jaipur
- Looks identical to the current X440
- Could be an X440 test mule for further development
A new Harley-Davidson test mule has been spotted near Jaipur. It appears similar to the current X440 cruiser. Moreover, it has been a few months since the smallest Harley-Davidson cruiser debuted in India, so what is the brand testing now?
There could be multiple speculations drawn from these spy shots. Harley-Davidson could be working on another version of the X440 or maybe developing a new model as well. Or, it is likely that the bike was out on component testing as well. Moreover, since its launch, the X440 has received quite some feedback on various fronts. So, the company could also be working on those to improve the overall package for its next iteration.
As of now, Harley-Davidson is offering the X440 in three trims: Denim, Vivid and S. The three models differ in terms of paint schemes, hardware and features. But apart from that, the design, engine specifications, suspension and brakes are the same. Harley-Davidson has powered the X440 with a 440cc single-cylinder engine that dishes out 27 bhp and 38 Nm. It’s linked to a six-speed gearbox and nestled in a trellis frame.
Currently, the Harley-Davidson X440 rivals the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Meteor 350 and the Triumph Speed 400. For reference, the most affordable variant of the X440 is priced at Rs. 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
