- 35,998 units of Royal Enfield Classic 350 sold last month
- Drop of 30 per cent compared to last year
- Royal Enfield is likely to launch updated variant soon
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been raking in strong sales for the manufacturer ever since its launch in 2010. However, the sales for the motorcycle have consistently declined for the past six months in the country.
For May 2019, Royal Enfield managed to sell 35,998 units of the Classic 350 range which includes the standard version, Gunmetal Grey and Signals. This, as compared to the same month last year is a drop of around 30 per cent wherein it sold 51,147 units of the motorcycle. Meanwhile from January to April, the sales numbers have dropped from 46,321 to 35,196 units; a 27 per cent decrease.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 has become a bit long in the tooth. Its biggest rival, Jawa is offering a product with fresher appeal while the motorcycles available around its price tag bring modern features to the table. Nevertheless, as spy shots have revealed, Royal Enfield is working on updating the Classic in the cosmetic as well as mechanical front. We can expect the new motorcycle to come with a BSVI-compliant engine and be introduced in the Indian market sometime this year.
