- Royal Enfield sells 27,572 units of Classic 350
- Sold 13,751 units in September last year
While the Classic 350 has been Royal Enfield’s best-selling motorcycle for years, the month of September 2022 turned out to be exceptionally well for the brand. As per the SIAM data, the Chennai-based bike maker sold 27,571 units of the Classic 350 in India last month.
This was a massive jump as compared to September last year when the company sold only 13,751 units of the bike. It’s worth noting that this drop in sales was mainly due to the new version’s launch scheduled in the same month and the potential buyers holding back their purchase for it. The month-on-month sales also witnessed a substantial increment as RE sold 18,993 units of the Classic 350 in August 2022. While we wait for October sales data to be out, we anticipate the number of dispatches will be even higher this month due to the major Indian festivals.
Royal Enfield bestowed the Classic 350 with its biggest update in September last year. The latest model is based on the new J platform comprising a 349cc, air/oil-cooled engine which is much more refined than its predecessor. It produces 20.2bhp and 27Nm and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. It rides on a 19-18-inch spoke wheel combination with telescopic forks, dual springs and a single disc at both ends. One can go for the optional disc-drum braking setup.
The prices of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 start from Rs 1.90 lakh and go up to Rs 2.21 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes against the Jawa Standard, Honda Hness CB350, and the Benelli Imperiale.
