Royal Enfield has launched the Classic 500 ABS in India. The standard version is priced at Rs 1,99,928 , the matte colours cost Rs 2,02,860 and the Classic Chrome is priced at Rs 2,10,361 (all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai). The ABS equipped bikes cost a premium of Rs 15,000 over the earlier version.
Apart from the ABS, the bike remains the same as the earlier model. It continues with the 499cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 27.2bhp and 41.3Nm of torque. The Classic 500 is the latest model after the Classic 350 Signals and Himalayan to get a dual-channel ABS unit as standard.
Deliveries of the motorcycles will commence in the next two weeks, just in line with the festive season. Royal Enfield has a slew of launches in the next couple of months, and with the Thunderbird to come equipped with ABS next, the Classic 500 Pegasus is the only recently launched model without ABS.
