- Online bookings for Classic 500 Pegasus begins tomorrow
- Only 1000 units will be made; 250 units for India
- Priced at Rs 2.49 lakhs (on-road Mumbai)
It has been more than a month since Royal Enfield launched the Classic 500 Pegasus, a limited edition motorcycle that draws styling inspiration from the Royal Enfield RE/WD 125 used in World War II by British military.
This exclusive motorcycle has been priced at Rs 2.49 lakhs (on-road Mumbai) and is limited to 1000 units only. Fortunately, 250 units have been allotted for the Indian market and can be booked through its official website starting from 2PM tomorrow. This limited edition motorcycle can’t be purchased at any of the Royal Enfield showrooms across the country.
The bike is powered by a 499cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 27.2bhp and 41.3Nm of torque. This unit is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Braking on the Classic 500 Pegasus is done by disc brakes on both ends, missing out on an ABS unit.
To make it stand out from the rest of the products in its line-up, the company has equipped the Pegasus edition with leather strap with brass buckles on the air filter box, a pair of canvas panniers and brown handlebar grips as standard. Each bike also gets a unique serial number stencilled on the side of the tank along with an embossed Royal Enfield logo and Pegasus emblem. The headlamp bezel, rims, exhaust and engine have been blacked out and the crankcase cover is colour-coordinated to replicate the RE/WD 125.
People who manage to book this bike tomorrow, will also get a new helmet and tee-shirt from the company’s new range of apparel.
