- Limited to 1000 units; India gets 250
- Inspired from the RE/WD 125 model
- Will be Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 pricier than the standard model
Royal Enfield will launch the most awaited limited edition motorcycle, the Classic 500 Pegasus Edition in India tomorrow. This bike was unveiled just a week ago in United Kingdom.
Inspired from the Royal Enfield RE/WD 125 model, the Pegasus Edition has a limited production run of just 1000 units. In fact, the Indian market will get only 250 units which we expect will be sold out in a matter of minutes. The Pegasus Edition gets some special visual enhancements that makes it very appealing.
The rims, headlamp bezel and the exhaust have been blacked out. The crank case cover is colour coordinated with the rest of the bike. There are other special additions like the brown handlebar grips, a leather strap with brass buckles on the air filter box and a set of canvas panniers. In order to keep it exclusive, each bike gets a unique serial number stencilled on the side of the tank. Mechanically, there are no changes and the bike continues to be powered by a 500cc single-cylinder 27.2bhp engine. This engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Royal Enfield is definitely going to demand a premium for this limited edition motorcycle. We’re expecting a premium of anything between Rs 15,000 and Rs 25,000 over the standard model which retails at Rs 1.88 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
