Royal Enfield has launched the special edition Classic 500 Pegasus in India at Rs 2.49 lakhs (on-road). The motorcycle will be exclusively sold through Royal Enfield’s official website on 10 July. Here is a photo gallery of the motorcycle straight from the launch venue –
The Classic 500 Pegasus is produced in a limited run of 1,000 units, of which just 250 have been earmarked for India.
Each Classic 500 Pegasus has its unique serial number stencilled on the fuel tank. It also features the RE logo from WWII era and the British parachute regiment's insignia.
The engine fins, exhaust, rims and the headlamp bezel are finished in black, while the engine crankcase is colour coordinated with the body.
Other unique touches include the two canvas panniers and a leather strap running across the toolbox with a metal buckle.
The instrument console consist of two clocks; one shows the speedometer, odometer and telltale lights while the other shows the fuel reserve indicator.
At its heart is a 499cc air-cooled fuel-injected single-cylinder engine which delivers 27.3bhp and 41.3Nm of torque.
It rides on a 19-inch wheel at the front and a 18-inch wheel at the rear. The suspension setup consist of telescopic front forks and dual springs at the rear.
Globally available in two paint schemes, but in India, only the matte brown paint scheme will be sold.
