Royal Enfield has announced the pricing of the Classic 500 Pegasus. Limited to just 250 units for the Indian market, the Classic 500 Pegasus is sure to run out of stock in no time when it goes on sale on 10 July. In case you miss out on the chance to get your hands on this bike, here are the other bikes that you can opt for on a similar budget as the Pegasus -
If you wish to stick to the brand, you can go for the Thunderbird 500X. It is more comfortable, modern and feature-laden than the Pegasus, and boast of a projector headlamp and a digital display for the clocks. It shares the 499cc air-cooled fuel-injected single-cylinder engine with the Pegasus. Mated to a five-speed transmission, this engine delivers 27.3bhp and 41.3Nm of torque. The Thunderbird 500X will set you back by Rs 2.20 lakhs.
If you want a cruiser, but are not particular about a Royal Enfield, then you can look at the UM Renegade Classic. It gets all the characteristic styling cues of a traditional American cruiser, and is powered by a 280cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. It delivers 25bhp and 23Nm of torque, and retails at Rs 2.22 lakhs.
If you spend a good chunk of your time commuting, you can also look at the pocket rocket – the KTM 390 Duke. At Rs 2.67 lakhs, it is pricier than the Pegasus, but also boasts of a far more powerful engine and a bunch of modern features. Propelling the 390 Duke is a 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine delivering 43bhp and 37Nm of torque. There is also the 390 Duke’s sportier sibling, the RC390. This sportbike gets the same engine, albeit wrapped in an aerodynamic fairing. It will set you back by Rs 2.64 lakhs.
However, if you find the KTMs too loud and performance-oriented for your taste, then you can look at the TVS Apache RR310. Based on the underpinnings of the BMW G 310 R, the fully-faired Apache RR310 is a comfortable sports touring bike that can also keep you entertained on a race track. It is powered by a 312cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine delivering 33bhp and 27.3Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed transmission. It will cost you Rs 2.48 lakhs.
