Royal Enfield is going to launch a new version of the Classic 500 in the UK. Called Classic 500 Redditch, this bike is cosmetically similar to the Classic 350 Redditch sold in the Indian market.
The Classic 500 Redditch edition pays homage to Redditch, the place where Royal Enfield motorcycles were manufactured during the 1950s. These bikes feature a solid paint scheme and a Royal Enfield Redditch monogram which was first seen on the 1939 125cc Royal Baby prototype. At the heart is the same 499cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine which delivers 27.2bhp and 41.3Nm of torque. Fuelling is taken care of by a fuel-injection system, and the engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The Classic 500 rides on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels. ABS is offered as standard.
The Classic 500 Redditch will be available in red, blue and green paint schemes in the UK. We do not expect these to be launched here anytime soon as the Redditch edition has been reserved just for the Classic 350 in India.
