- Will be launched around Diwali 2024
- Based on the Shotgun 650 platform
- Expected to be priced under Rs. 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom)
While Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch the Shotgun 650 in India, the company is working on yet another motorcycle based on the 650cc platform. What appears to be the all-new Royal Enfield Classic 650 was recently spotted testing in the country.
Spy pictures suggest that the test prototype is near production-ready, and should be launched soon. The Classic 650 shares its chassis with the upcoming Shotgun 650, especially the subframe which looks identical to the bobber. However, the rest of the bodywork and cycle parts are different.
The test mule features a round LED headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and long fenders. It also gets twin peashooter exhaust pipes to complement the retro vibe of the motorcycle. The Classic 650 will get conventional telescopic forks up front and twin springs at the back. The motorcycle will ride on tube-type tyres that will be wrapped on wire-spoke wheels. Meanwhile, the braking duties will be carried out by disc brakes at both ends.
Powering the upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 650 will be a 648cc, parallel-twin motor that is likely to produce 46.4bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3bhp at 5,650rpm. The engine will be linked to a six-speed gearbox. The Classic 650 is expected to be launched in India in the last quarter of 2024 around Diwali. The bike is likely to be priced under Rs. 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
