- Will be powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin engine
- Has been spotted testing multiple times
- Could get features like LED illumination, smartphone connectivity, and more
Royal Enfield has trademarked the Classic 650 Twin in India, and the document has now been leaked. The bike has been spotted testing multiple times and here is what we know about it.
The Royal Enfield 650 Twin will get a thorough retro design with its round headlight, wide fuel tank, bullet turn indicators, and chrome all over. That said, it is expected to get a dash of modern features like an LED headlight, a digital console and probable smartphone connectivity too with the Tripper Navigation pod.
It is no secret that the Classic 650 Twin will get the same engine as the current Super Meteor, and other middleweight bikes in Royal Enfield’s portfolio. It is a 648cc, parallel-twin engine that makes 47bhp with 52Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
On the hardware front, the Classic 650 Twin gets telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. Its braking duties are done by a single front and rear disc with dual-channel ABS. These are linked to spoke wheels wrapped in tubed road-biased tyres. Yes, the Classic 650 too could use tube tyres.
We expect Royal Enfield to offer the Classic 650 with multiple colour options and variants. It could be priced at around Rs. 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will sit between the Interceptor and the Continental GT.
