- One-off custom made by Top Gear
- Parts sourced from different custom houses in the UK
The 2024 edition of the Savile Row Concours in London witnessed the unveiling of what could easily be one of the most spectacular-looking custom iterations of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. It has been created by Top Gear with the involvement of Royal Enfield and the helping hand of several craftsmen in the UK.
The suspension setup comprises NTR R3 fully adjustable rear springs and complete cartridge front forks from Nitron. The Bridgestone Battlax BT46 tyres are wrapped around 36-spoke wheels made by Central Wheel Components of Birmingham. Royal Enfield-owned Harris Performance has created the billet aluminium triple clamps, fully-adjustable clip-ons, rear set footpegs, and the beautifully-flowing fairing which is inspired by Harris’ old Magnum racer. This fairing houses a round LED headlamp with a clear screen.
The exhaust pipes and mufflers have been sourced from Baak which helped the makers save 12.8kg in the overall weight of the bike. The bold and vibrant livery has been designed by Royal Enfield’s in-house graphics artists who came up with this bodywork taking inspiration from Alexander Calder’s BMW 3.0 CSL Le Mans car. Furthermore, Urban Rider made the new wiring, grips, mirrors and indicators while Hel Performance replaced hydraulic lines with stainless steel braided lines. The final touches were given by Fastec Racing and Malle London who made a custom set of CNC luggage holders and bags.
While we know this one-off Continental GT 650 build will never make it to production or go on sale, we hope Royal Enfield introduces its custom full-fairing kit, available as an option for the existing and potential GT 650 buyers who are drooling over these pictures right now.
