Royal Enfield has unveiled a special edition model of its café-racer, the Continental GT 650, at the ongoing 2021 EICMA show in Milan. With this version, RE is celebrating the completion of 120 years of its existence. Although the 120th anniversary edition’s India launch is still some time away, its beauty and elegance surely demand a closer look at its pictures.
This version of the motorcycle looks properly stealth with most of the components finished in black along with subtle yet eye-catchy golden accents.
It sports a black-chrome fuel tank that has been developed in-house by RE in Chennai. It is the result of a special chroming technology that is a sustainable trivalent eco-friendly process.
Look closely and you’ll find that the badges on the fuel tank are die-cast brass and have been developed in association with the Kumbakonam-based Sirpi Senthil artisan family.
Contrasting the all-black theme of the 120th anniversary Continental GT 650 are Royal Enfield’s hand-painted golden pinstripes. These are present on the fuel tank, rear cowl and wheel rims.
The fuel tank badge sitting on top will come with the unique serial number of the motorcycle in order to maintain its exclusivity.
Royal Enfield will be rolling out only 60 units of the motorcycle in India, Europe, America, and South-East Asia each.
The motorcycle will be available in India starting early next year with a price tag higher than the existing top-end chrome variant that costs Rs 3.20 lakh.
