Three Royal Enfield Continental GT motorcycles (aka the Café Racer) have been spied testing on the Bangalore-Chennai highway. All the three motorcycles appear to be production ready models and feature three different seat configurations, raising the possibility that the company might launch the Continental GT with one type of seat option and the rest as aftermarket options.
Also, looking at the tyre tread pattern of these motorcycles, it clearly shows the company is deciding on the tyres to be used for the production model. The company had first unveiled this motorcycle in 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and since then a lot of motorcycle enthusiasts have been waiting for this machine to be launched.
The Café Racer is powered by the same 499cc air-cooled engine that powers the Classic 500. But for the Café Racer, the engine has been bored out to displace 535cc. The bored out engine now produces 36bhp of power and torque is also expected to be higher than the Classic 500.
We are expecting the Café Racer to be launched this year end with a price tag ranging between Rs 2.25 lakh and Rs 2.75 lakh.
